Ayatollah Seyyed Hassan Khomeini made remarks during a ceremony held to mark the anniversary of the institute for compilation and publication of Imam Khomeini’s works in the Iranian capital Tehran.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Fatima Tabatabai, the daughter-in-law of Imam Khomeini, Majid Ansari, Hassan Rouhani’s vice president for parliamentary affairs, Hamid Ansari, deputy head of the institute, Dr. Mohammad Moghaddam, the head of international department and several other senior officials.
The grandson of Imam Khomeini hailed efforts by researchers, academics and employees of the institute who have undertaken very serious efforts to shield and protect Imam’s works and his intellectual legacy over the past few decades.
However, the great Islamic scholars went onto say that more could be done to spread and promote Imam’s works and thought among the young generation.
He also highlighted the need for constructive internal criticism in order to enhance the progress of the institute.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the great Muslim intellectual said that Imam was against all types of extremism. He also emphasized on necessity of protecting unity among various walks of society, emphasizing that door should remain open for all people and researchers who have different approaches to Imam’s ideals and thought.
The Institute was established because it was a necessity to gather and promote Imam Khomeini's Works after his heavenly departure.
The institute was established to accomplish this mission of great significance and protect the works from being distorted.
Since 1996, the institute started working to introduce Imam Khomeini's ideas, doing researches about the different dimensions of Imam's notions at domestic and international levels.
