Imam Khomeini frequently said that divine religion of Islam and holy book of Quran are real source of human dignity as they describe mankind as a precious creature with free Will. The free Will and determination have been granted to humans by God, the Almighty.
According to holy Quran, belonging to certain ethnicity, nation or tribe is not a source of pride or any priority. But the attainment of real dignity is closely associated with promoting human values and observing piety and piousness.
“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.” (al-Hujurat, verse 13).
After exploring Imam’s works, researchers have concluded that the contemporary leader of the Muslim world introduced spirituality and divine school of thought as a real sources of accomplishing human rights, freedoms and civil liberties.
Imam believes that the divine mission of divine prophets have been to relieve humanity from clutches of slavery and prevent them from falling into pits of social and moral decline. The prophets were assigned to enhance moral code and realize humans about their real position and spiritual statues.
According to Imam’s dynamic thought and ideals, If someone has not been able to relive itself from lust and material lower desires, then how such a person would grant rights or take into consideration freedoms and liberties for others.
Researchers and experts say the term ‘right’ and its relevant extractions have been used for thousands of times in several of Imam’s academic works, speeches and messages.
Once Imam in a historic speech strongly criticized those who have signed the charter of international human rights, but come short of fulfilling their responsibilities and commitments in this regard.
It is worthy to mention that the Islamic Revolution emerged victorious under the wise leadership of Imam Khomeini in 1979 and blessed the society with a variety of human rights and freedoms.
Following the victory of the establishment of the Islamic-democratic system, Iran made significant progress in several fields including media, press, education, heath, defense and several other fields.
Several international rights groups and organizations have hailed Iran’s progress in enhancing rights of all citizens including women, minorities and ethnic groups over the past decades. Islam revolution caused the women’s status to be elevated in the society.
Followers of divine religions of Islam, Christians, Jews and Zoroastrianism live peacefully and are free to practice their religious rituals.
