A summit and gathering titled the "unity and resistance from the perspective of divine religions with an emphasis on the thought of Imam Khomeini" has been held in birthplace city of the late founder of the Islamic Republic.
The event was held to mark the second annual cultural week of Imam in city of Khomeini. A number of activists and thinkers from across Iran and other countries expressed their views and opinions around the theme.
Hojjat al-Islam Dr. Seyyed Hasan Mousavi, head of the Tabyan Cultural and Social Activities Center in the holy city of Qom, during a speech said that Imam Khomeini’s mission was of divine origin and had been inspired by the holy prophet.
He further said that Imam Khomeini’s politics has been of divine origin and derived from the pure teachings of the holy Qur'an.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the scholar said that Imam’s ideals had left deep impact across various parts of the world.
He also hailed the influence of Imam’s thought in neighboring Afghanistan. The scholar hailed sacrifices rendered by Afghan nationals during the struggle for the Islamic Revolution.
The institute for compilation and publication of Imam Khomeini’s works has organized the week with close coordination of cultural organizations, Khomein’s mayor and local management officials.
The events to run until January 09 are being held at the birth anniversary of Imam Khomeini, which coincided with auspicious birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatima, the beloved daughter of the holy prophet of Islam.
During the cultural week, special events, sessions, seminars, conferences and gatherings will be held to introduce public masses with Imam Khomeini's messages and dynamic ideals.
